Responsibilities

Below, we have provided a high level view of what the role entails, with the complete job description discussed in detail during our interviewing process.

  • Monitors and responds to alerts within the information technology infrastructure.
  • Validates and maintains incident response plans and processes to address potential threats.
  • Investigates and reports on security events and other cybersecurity incidents.
  • Ensures that all servers, PCs, firewalls, and other IT-related equipment is security hardened for compliance and/or industry standards.
  • Performs regular audits of firewall(s), log management, intrusion detection systems, and content filtering controls.
  • Documents security breaches and assess the damage they cause.
  • Improves information security posture through the application of findings from an investigation of security incidents.
  • Performs scans and fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard.
  • Creates updates and oversees the execution of security assessments and analysis of systems.
  • Conducts assessment on the security of new applications and programs prior to installation or upgrades.
  • Compiles and analyzes data for proper reporting and metrics
  • Ensures all levels of staff are provided with relevant training on security matters.
  • Stays current on IT security trends and news.
  • Develops company-wide best practices for IT security.
  • Helps with the Implementation and Maintenance of the Identity and Access Management program which includes monitoring account creation, account termination, and access controls.
  • Takes responsibility for learning the aspects of compliance in the company by completing all mandatory compliance training.
  • The ability to build and maintain confidence and credibility with all employees.
  • The ability to maintain friendly, cordial relations with all clients and employees; maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that results in a positive work relationship with customers, co-workers, and managers.
  • The ability to perform the physical, use of senses, cognitive, and environmental functions of the position, as specified on the physical demands.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by management

 

Experience Requirements and Preferences:

  • 2- 5 years of proven hands-on Information Security experience
  • Knowledge of national and international regulatory compliances, standards, and frameworks such as ISO, SOX, and PCI DSS
  • Security Certifications preferred: Certifications from accredited bodies, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CISA (Certified Information Security Auditor), GIAC/CISM/CCIE/CCNA, or other specialized security certifications
  • Experience in networking and routing protocols; experience in Penetration Testing and hacking techniques
  • Understanding of security concepts, protocols, processes, architectures, and platforms (authentication and access control technologies, intrusion detection, network traffic analysis, Web Application Firewalls, Encryption and Key Management, SIEM technology, incident handling, media/malware analysis, etc.)
  • Working experience with the following areas desired:
    • Identity and Access Management, Endpoint Encryption, Security training and awareness, change management, breach investigations, and incident response.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience working in healthcare.
    • Experience working with remote environments
